Infernal Affairs series, if you've not seen them. The Departed is a poor-ish Hollywood remake of the original.

Not actually a trilogy but City of God, Elite Squad and Elite Squad 2 can be watched as a trilogy. The latter two movies are from the pov of the police and are more violent than City of God.

The first one is a bit of a larf...agreed that DS2 just goes too far overboard...

Infernal Affairs is an excellent shout.

If you want to ruin your pants, Ju-On, The Grudge, is a Japanese ghost story film that cost me a good set of boxers.

Fucking disturbing films they are. Really psychologically got under my skin :(  The american remakes aren't too bad actually.

Great call that one.

I enjoyed the Ghost in the Shell that came out this year. I've just watched Grimsby from 2016 and I must have been in a receptive mood because I surprised myself by almost choking from laughter; I've not enjoyed previous Sacha Baron Cohen films.

Discovered and enjoyed "The Dead Lands" last weekend. Lots of mental violence complete with wide eyed glaring, head twitches and tongues sticking out - loved it. I don't think anyone can do, "I'm about to totally lose my shit", like an angry Maori :)

That's the one!

Wtf is that music though? That's certainly wasn't in the original, it's been added on.

Shazam identifies it as "The X Files-Movement #1: Teaser And Theme" by Mark Snow And John Beal

Which it probably isn't, though it does sound a bit like something Mark Snow might have done that didn't make it into that series.

Just seen First Man at the cinema. Normally hate science films, but the bewildering fact we sent a man to the moon with primitive technology is worth the watch alone. As Mrs Armstrong angrily tells Nasa you are just a bunch of kids playing with Balsa wood kits and haven't got a  clue what you are doing. Indeed Armstrong is a depressive consigned to his death along those lines after many of his mates have got killed in testing.

Couldn't do it now with all that health and safety, despite one giant leap in technology. Of course you can take the conspiracy view we never did bsck then with all that "Balsa Wood" technology. Well if we did, bloody incredible.

What would be even more amazing than landing a man on the moon in 1969 would be faking it.

The technology to fake that wasn't available. Could be argued that the tech for falsifying the landing was available and kept secret but it was many many years before such tech was known about.

Amusingly, I've come across no conspiracy theories that say the Apollo 13 mission was fake. Hmmm... we can get to the moon, go round the back of it and get home after a near fatal fuck up but no way did people land there with a fully functioning spacecraft the year before.
