Waxing

Recommended Posts

Currently attempting to wax a lovely piece of hard wood.

My tin of wax is 20 years old so I'm having to rub very hard to get it on.

I'm hoping to get a good finish at the end of it.

Should I use a softer wax or is it worth persevering with the hard one?

Yes heat the wax

When you wax skis etc you heat the wax

Put the tin of wax on the radiator

That makes more sense than the wood, is there a right level of warmth, if it melts surely its not wax anymore and I will be hot oiling my timber.

I think you use an hot iron for skis

put the wax on the wood (roughly) and use an iron to heat and spread it out

iron it on

have a look on youtube at ski hot waxing

Is this what they mean when they say, "No.3 can do the ironing ?"

The internet truly is an amazing voyage of accidental discovery.

What's wrong with the natural look?

I thought this was going to be about a different type of waxing.

Me three. I thought we'd be treated to those last turkey pictures, back, sac and crack.
