Tax code change. Number go down. Wtf?

Just had an email from the payment company ( umbrella ) saying HMRC have lowered the number from 1250L to 1121L. Can anyone explain to me as calling them takes forever. Thanks in advance.

mine went down last year but im PAYE, it was due to me owing them tax cos of my reported interest payments on savings accounts, i didnt tell them, i dont do a self assessment, banks told them. Anyway i got back at them and pushed my salary sacrifice pension payment from 3% to 26%

Thing is, I don't owe em anything. Payed up, totally square. State of this place. I stopped sole trader in Jan this yr so have a self assessment going in for 23-24 Jan to Jan. Then I'll owe em, but I had a shed load of expenses..... that yr.

I've just had similar because cost of medical insurance went up.
