So, Carrie Gracie has quit as the So-Called BBC China correspondent citing the gender pay gap - fair enough and I would say fair play to her for standing up for what she believes in until this:

Carrie Gracie will return to her role in the So-Called BBC News Channel newsroom in the UK where she ‘expects to be paid equally’.

She should expect to clear the shit off her desk and piss off pronto!

Think she'll struggle.

Her reports from China, even the Newsnight specials were pretty anodyne.

Unlike say, Jane Hill, Carrie doesn't even have particularly nice tits.

BBC employs so many, for so long, at huge cost, for no obvious reason.

Being a bloke, I really dont notice that sort of thing.

Boobs is about all I notice.

Apparently she was guest editor on Today last week. Not that I noticed.

Gets to sit in the big chair and suddenly kicks off.

They need to a  get a text-to-speech computer in for a bit. That'll help them keep their salary costs down.

I seem to be all out of reps. But if I had any, you could have the lot.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-42601477

US editor Jon Sopel earned £200,000-£249,999, it was revealed, while Middle East editor Jeremy Bowen earned £150,000-£199,999. Ms Gracie was not on the list, meaning her salary was less than £150,000.

What annoys me about the above statement is that these are not identikit jobs. The US and Middle East correspondents are called upon weekly whereas who gives a shit about China? On TV once a month? If that!

She can go back to flirting with Simon McCoy in the afternoon slot, with about ten people watching.

Presumably they lives overseas.
So the cost of their living there has to be taken into account.

So which is dearer to live in?

Or do we just pick up the tab for that separately?

I would love to know where this equality bullshit is going, for instance is it fair that a Black footballer in League 2 maybe earns £600 per week and White Wayne Rooney earns well over 100k for doing what amounts to the same job.

And why will there no Women in the England football squad going to Russia this year,is this yet more sexism?

I am sick to the back teeth of all this PC bullshit.

The following article has it all, in spades. It's great. I love it for it's sheer, je ne sais quoi,

The famous Ladies Pond on London’s Hampstead Heath will now be open to both women and men who identify as female.

However, the decision has sparked outrage among some who use the facility who claimed that the ruling could encourage men who are not transitioning to take advantage of the decision.

One swimmer, Margaret Roberts told the Mail Online of an incident where she asked a male who claimed to identify as a woman but “looked and dressed like a male” to leave but he refused.

(The Evening Standard need to learn about the apostrophe)

It reminds me of a great quotation from Homer.

"Oh, why do my actions have consequences?"

This sentence leaves me puzzled

Does that mean the pond would exclude women who identify as male?

and then, what about Lesbians ?

I get so confused

seems these women are bad negotiators or have poor agents, though am staggered by some of the male newsreaders pay.

I am staggeringly amazed that you can resign your role, slag off your employer using their own media (on Woman's hour I think) and yet still retain or walk straight into another job with them. Talk about having your cake and eating it

I think I have just heard that she was so unwanted back in the UK by her employer that the So-Called BBC offered her an extra £45k pa to stay in China.

But, for the entitled correspondent (that's a letter writer, right?), a pay rise that is almost double the national average wage wasn't good enough to stay out of the UK.

So we have her back. We are blessed indeed to have the So-Called BBC.
