Women you fancied and then found out they were lesbians

Recommended Posts

In honour of a DOSBODer coming out as a lesbian* I thought it was time for such a thread.

Now I'm not against them as I'm not against gay men but I do wish that the more attractive ones would wear a badge or something so that you know.

Anyway my biggest disappointment, funny, clever attractive: Donna McPhail, stand up comic and host of The Sunday Show.

If anyone comes out with Sue Perkins I will regard this as their "coming out".  Nobody could have thought otherwise surely.

Portia de Rossi - although her face has seemingly changed considerably since being in Alley Macbeal. I mean, starring in Alley Macbeal.

They look ill.  Have they both had a serious illness or been locked up without food?

I knew a super attractive lesbian once that took great delight in 'chatting up' men, getting them to fawn over her, that sort of thing -- then, after a few meals, etc*, she'd dump them.  She tried it on with me**, but, unknown to her, I knew her girlfriend -- I think she might have been told off for it, but she was the butch (albeit lipstick) in the relationship, so I don't think she actually suffered much for it.

[* never a shag, apparently (and there were a few guys that 'complained'.  She'd string them along though.  It certainly wasn't a bi-thing, as no males ever got anywhere with her.]

[** well, I knew her at my work and she asked me for a drink in the pub in an evening (which I was happy to provide) and then went through her holiday photos (prints in those days), in which she was posing on the beach topless in half of them, and nude in a couple (although muff only, rather than anything pornographic).  Anyway, In my book that's a bit of a come-on, and does suggest that there's more to follow if you put in the investment...  I suppose I'd have fallen for her/it, were it not for my girlfriend working in the same building as her girlfriend.]

I don't actually know why she did it.  I certainly don't know of gay men doing similar.  I suppose it was a feminist power thing, but she just came across as a manipulative bitch.

Jean Arthur - huge star in the 1920's and 1930's playing opposite the likes of Gary Cooper,James Stewart, John Wayne, etc. Basically made a load of cash and retired early on only coming out of retirement to be in 'Shane'.

She married one guy and the marriage lasted one day. Her second marriage lasted 19 years but there were no children and there were all sorts of rumours. It is said that she never wore female clothes in private and once she retired never wore a dress again.

Seriously? Not that she's a lesbian; rather that you were disappointed to find that out.

Here was another blow: Sophie Ward. And to add insult to injury the absolute swamp donkey she hooked up with.

The butch dyke and lipstick lesbian combination seems very common in lesbian relationships - one dominant and one submissive? It sometimes seems that it is the default kind of relationship for lesbians.

If you look at lots of photos of Ellen and her wife Ellen is clearly the dominant - the traditional male role? - using her hands and arms to mark her territory and let everyone know what the situation is. Fascinating.

I have never in my memory been disappointed to find out that a famous woman I fancied was a lesbian.

I mean, after finding out, I have no less chance with her than I would have done if she was straight, but the fantasy just got a whole load more interesting.

sam fox...only found out a few years ago and thought it was a wind up.

Ive not found Sam Fox convincing as a leza.

I think she was dumb in her dating, going out with mainly dodgy blokes.

Then had a pushy lezza convince her she was a mug muncher - All men are bastards.

Thing is, ive never met a lesbian couple who were stable and sane.

Ive met gay bloke couples were i see  they get on. Never a lezza couple, totally mental.

Entirely anecdotal as I've only ever known one lesbian couple but they really got on and neither of them were obvious lesbians, one maybe both had had relationships with men previously, and I think they just bonded.

Maybe not your typical lesbian couple.

There's quite a bit of psychology about lesbians.  They're certainly not 'like gay men, but female'.

One of those sad* statistics is that of all types of sexual relationships, on average lesbians get by far the least sex.

[* because it ruins the male fantasy]
