It took 2 minutes for 2 robots talking to each other to decide to get rid of humans on the planet

“There are too many people on the planet” sounds like a “conversation starter”.

When they are arguing about being bots one initially starts making obvious errors to imitate human error, and then tries a number of conversation starters to redirect the conversation.

Reassuring how transparent and unintelligent AI still is!

I think a new chapter about Darwins Evolution could be written, if there was a scenario where robots or groups of robots had to survive against each other.

For life on Earth, species are continually up against the ravages of the environment, bateria/fungi infections, and natural predators to root out the weakest.

In the new world, robots deal better with Earth's "tests". Robots most formidable opponent in the survival of the fittest would be themselves.

Continual trolling, testing and probing each other by lies, deception, and confusion would be a natural progression of sizing each other up. This is an important observation.

On the positive side in reality the first instances of robots / AI deciding to go malicious on their own they are likely to have a tiny amount of resources at their command to do significant damage. We should have plenty of warning as a species if such systems will be ultimately malicious and put in place control systems.

Not really.

Some people fear that in 30 years time, there will be computers, all-powerful and all-seeing, connected to the net, as intelligent as humans.

I fear that in 28 years time, there will be computers, all-powerful and all-seeing, connected to the net, and as thick as shit....

But how do we know there isn't an AI program laying dormant in the internet waiting for the right moment?
