A couple accused of waterboarding their 12-year-old daughter as a form of punishment have been sentenced to five to seven years probation after entering a plea agreement.

Dion Stevens, 34, and Malisa Stevens, 41, were charged last year with aggravated assault after an anonymous tipster informed the police about possible abuse of their daughter.

Police went to the family home in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, and were told by the 12-year-old daughter about a time in April where she was dragged into the basement and waterboarded by her parents.

The 12-year-old described to cops how she was bound into a chair with packing tape.

Then, the girl said, a wet towel was placed over her face and her chair was tilted backward as a bucket of cold water was poured onto her, preventing her from breathing.
