This is great but, Christ is it fucking depressing it's like Manfred Mann on a comedown and the content was depressing as well, it always seemed like the world was going to end.

It seems like so many telly theme tunes, in the seventies and eighties, the composer must have gone to the director with a tune and they must have said 'yep, that but make it creepier'.

I like this - the first 2 seasons were good as well.

Yes, and this - can't find the theme, I didn't realise it was made in the 30's.

One of my happiest childhood memories is my sister taking me to the cinema on Saturday mornings to watch 3 hours of stuff. Amongst it was this show. I can still recall being petrified by the mud people who lived in caves and could come out of solid rock.

The end of each episode was always an amazing taster of what was to come in the next episode - but it never was!

It was funny, decades later, when Star Trek: Voyager did a homage to this.

All the above drama themes are punchy, fast paced, telling you that you are going to be watching something that is fast moving, twists & turns... even if the actual shows weren't.

The below Timewatch theme is classy, slower paced, intellectual, saying something else about the programme to come.
