Germans on holiday

Recommended Posts

Play a game - let them know that one of you has Polish parents and the other has parents from Liberia or some other West African country. See if they treat you diifferently. Eery now and then, when asked, swap who has which parentage.

Report back.

Might just try that if any of the buggers get friendly!

I was hoping to chat to some Americans but they only spent a few hours here before getting back on their cruise ship.

A classmate of mine had that shirt in the early 80s. He used to wear it around all the time. Yes, it raised the odd eyebrow, but can you imagine the hullabaloo in today’s snowflake world?

It was Viz type humour back in the day.  It was a funny t-shirt.

It was like wearing a SS uniform to a party because it was a laugh.

Nobody doing either was supporting Hitler or the SS; they were taking the mickey.

In these humourless days that joke isn't allowed anymore as illustrated by the endless times that Prince Harry in nazi fancy dress gets recycled.

They Always miss out the tour opening with the Sudetenland.

Just be thankful you're not there with a bunch of Russians. They make every other tourist in the world look like Buddhist monks on tour.

Plus, they have a very rude habit of leaving their nerve-agents lying around. The mannerless oafs.

At least we have something in common then.

Go to a bookshop and get a copy of Stalingrad by Anthony Beevor

Sit in prominent locations around the pool reading it.

Thanks I have an unread copy at home, I'll armed with it for my next trip ;)
