The alt-Right thread

Recommended Posts

Restoring an early casualty of the HPC stables-cleaning.

I notice the MSM is at pains to conflate alt-Right with far-Right in the Public mind, whereas I don't see much overlap, if any.

Alt-Right to me is strictly a push back against PostModernism, PC, Identity Politics, SJW brainwashing, Feminist GynoCentrism and Cultural Marxism in all its forms with an emphasis on Scientific Realism, Freedom of Speech, thought and opportunity and preservation of real diversity in the world, best represented by speakers such as Dr Jordan Peterson and Dinesh D' Souza, Milo Yiannopoulos, Gavin McInnes, Mark Steyn, Peter Hitchens and others. It also encompasses much of what is called The Manosphere/ RP.

I blame Wikipedia for a lot of this. I know it sounds trite but if you follow it back you'll find that a lot of this groupthink originates, or at least is referenced from, that website. Most journalists are lazy and consult only Wikipedia, thinking it's a quality source, and thus the problem intensifies.

In my opinion in a few years time people will start to realise this; as of now they're laying the blame at the journalist's and/or MSM collective doors, or even social media cf. "tumblr in action" on reddit. Most schools and educational institutions use it: indeed they rely on it. Google uses it within its results in their Knowledge Graph. The rot starts early.

Any political article on there is a cesspit of pushing leftwing agendas as far as possible, a balancing act without erring into blatant bias and tripping a filter. If you look you'll notice that a lot of the sources on Wikipedia are OpEds that reference... Wikipedia. It's a brilliant tactic.

I'm totally with you tona.  It is refreshing and rather remarkable that you list so many commentators that I listen to or watch.  There must be hundreds available and yet we all seem to follow the some ones.  (keep  in mind I live over the pond). Dinesh is a new one to me and I thank you for that and both of the videos were new to me so I thank you for that too.  I would like to add Stefan Molyneaux and Styxhexenhammer666 the latter of which is a really cool dude with precision insight into political issues.  Yea, you have to step around the occult, but it is worth the listen.  He is currently addressing, along with many others, notably Paul Joseph Watson, the massive attempt of the elite (read corporate) to censor the internet, particularly youtube.  Considering the reason for the existence for this site it is all very pertinent.

I have said it before but it is worth repeating:  it comes down to the meme that it is easier to be a liberal than to think.  You can insert pc or lefty or sjw for liberal.  It all much of a muchness.

I consider myself left wing (basically anarchist), but value a secular society underpinned by science, equal opportunity, limited government and freedom of speech. I don't agree with everything the alt-right or far-right say, but there are definitely points of agreement - and in any case, hurling insults and polarisation never helps.

There's definitely a power-grab going on for information sources - corporate Elites co-opting Useful Idiots on the Left.

As they have always done, all through history.  The big difference this time is that we have the internet and we can talk to each other globally.  This is a game changer and as Spunko has aptly demonstrated they can run but they can't hide.  I read that the internet is similar to the invention of the printing press.  It is a way to spread truth and information and ideas and it can't be stopped anymore than we can de-invent any goddamned thing.  Brave new world.

Nail on head! Labelling it as Alt-Right also gives the movement a Hitleresque feel to it.

I want to add another name to the Pantheon of alt-Right truth-tellers in David Starkey. This guy is fearless in front of the regressive Left though much of his force, like Milo's derives from his being Gay. The fact that he's working-class "made good" also works as a charm against Leftist witchcraft as demonstrated brilliantly here on QT:

and here he dismantles the obnoxious Laurie Penney:

I work in a left wing environment, and socialise with left wing people. Over the last year, because I don't just lap up the BBC and Guardian bullshit, but question it, I'm now labelled as Alt-Right. I am the enemy to these twats, simply because I think for myself.

At no point have I expressed any right wing opinions to them, just questioned the logic of their opinion. I don't even think I'm right wing, but quite frankly, I know I'm not one of them.

When David Starkey is on the TV/Radio, I want to watch/listen. Total respect to the bloke.

Fuck'em.This why the Left always think they are correct. Nobody fights back against them. I am like that myself. I will not discuss Politics in the real world with anybody. If someone expresses a leftish view, I'll nod my head and talk about the weather. I'll try my best to avoid them in future. But then at the ballot box, I'll vote for anybody except for the lefty morons we have now. The left - the Guardian reading London elite - have killed rational debate so much that there really is no point in conversing with them - they are totally brainwashed. You may as well argue with a goat over it's inability to sing like Pavarotti

Liberal - "willing to respect or accept behaviour or opinions different from one's own; open to new ideas".

xD

It seems to me that the standard left winger is less liberal than the supposed right.

It's the always thinking they're correct thing that alienates me so much. I think it was Blair who started it with his "right thing to do" mantra, but it's been adopted since by all the others - they just shorten it to "its right that we... <insert statement of unquestionable rightness here>."

This pretend conviction that something is so right is designed to court no argument or criticism. It suggests that anyone who disagrees must be some sort of nasty, delusional nutjob and that no decent person would ever think otherwise. IMO it's a very deliberate strategy which has proven very effective. If something was really so right, then it would stand up to any scrutiny that was thrown at it, but we never get the chance before being shouted down by the rightness disciples.

Why so effective? Why are so many people so quick to just go along with it and actively join in? IMO it's a result of the over-indebted, digitally polluted, social media obsessed narcissistic culture that we've developed into. People have so much in their lives that's wrong, the thing of unquestionable rightness is like a life jacket that they can cling on to on an attempt to stop themselves from drowning in wrongness. They then shout about their life jacket all over social media to help portray their perfect life, along with photos of every meal they ever ate, and selfies that they filtered the crap out of that one time they went to the gym.

I have no interest in being religiously convinced about what's "right". I've been the happiest I've ever been since I realised and accepted that I don't know jack shit.

Starkey is spot on in those videos, people don't realise his non-posh upbringing - probably because of his mannerisms and style of dress.  He properly takes those fucking silver spoon witches Har-person and Coren (she's so irritatingly smug).  The last video, well the SJW automatically falls to the 'big baaadd waaaaaaacist' card. Pathetic.

I used to listen to the Moral Maze quite a bit, he was always quite bombastic - and quite twatish and a bit of a cunt quite frankly, I think just to play devils advocate. However, pretty much all of his arguments you couldn't fault intellectually.
