Cunt fuckers at TGI trying to fix kitchen turnover by taking tips off servers.

Great comment

'I was paid more in 1990 as a sixth former working p/t at B&Q than adult retail workers are paid today.

I often wonder what mechanism could have increased the labour pool to such an extent that employers are able to suppress pay for so long and offer insecure, zero hrs, min wage contracts... '

Research has shown that immigration doesnt suppress wages.

I read it on the So-Called BBC / Guardian so it must be true.

Yes, because they are all highly paid doctors and engineers.  Instead, due to the very high salaries they command, they pull up the wages of everyone.

I think I’m getting the hang of this newspeak lark.

It also has no impact in rents.

Millions of people arriving in a crowded country immediately saying "Tell me where I can live and how much rent I have to pay I can claim HB for" has absolutely no impact on rent levels.

None. Zero.

Am I doing this right ? :Geek:

There's a related article in the FT about Leicester's textile industry. The article focuses on one Indian that came to the UK in 1982 and now earns £3.50 an hour... But yeah, we're obviously very lucky to have third worlders come to the UK with their skills such as being able to move boxes about and even load them onto lorries.

In the US they've got a law that stops this sort of thing.  Where's the EU when you need it?

[A: actually creating the problem]

Indeed, it's worth remembering that the NHS would implode if not for the importation of millions of third world workers who selflessly care for our sick and elderly because british people are too thick and lazy to do it for themselves.

It doesn't suppress THEIR wages.

That is all they care about.

They also care about not having to pay above minimum wage to their nannies and the person who sells them their vente mocha-choca-chino with hazelnut syrup every morning.
