Nuclear accident in Hanford, Washington State?

That's what they want. When the 3 minute warning goes off we will all shrug our shoulders and ignore it.

Well, only for three (thought it was four, that one minute will make all the difference) minutes.

While I enjoy a nice bit of doom and gloom... let's not get too excited; big industrial plants do sometimes release big clouds.

Not of nuclear fallout though.  <Trots off to the So-Called BBC to seek the 'truth'>

It appears to be a serious nuclear accident, but it appears to be fairly well contained at the moment.  But they've (apparently) not yet allowed the 10,000 or so people in the neighbourhood to leave their 'shelter' (which I think means wherever they are but with doors and windows shut).  The usual way with this sort of thing is that we'll find out what has happened in a few days time.

Perhaps they have a team working on how to blame it on Trump?

Funnily enough, it is probably the only gov. funded project that he didn't touch.  Which in itself probably speaks volumes.

Yep, I get the impression that they know that something bad has happened but they have no idea how bad it might be - either just a cave-in off some tunnels in which containers containing nuclear waste are stored. Or potentially a massive air or ground water leak of the waste.

The fear appears to be that the contamination will work its way into the Columbia, and then spread around quite a bit of agricultural land -- there is presumably quite a bit happening in the background in this regard.

Fucksticks!  I work in the industry, I hope this doesn't cause more unnecessary regulation and red tape. I already need to have 10 forms signed at work before I open my packed lunch.

If it's egg mayonnaise then I think that is only fair. Disgusting smelling stuff.

They appeared a little blasé about it. I think I would be putting on a greater turn of speed than that.

I'm surprised they're putting footage of a nuclear facility on 'tinternet no matter how harmless it might be. That's a no-no everywhere I thought.

Regarding their speed, you're either going to get such a big dose it won't matter how fast your run or as seems to be the case today there's not actually been a leak or if it has it's so small it won't do you any harm and no need to run.

They have a potential nuclear leak in the US and that journo's first question at the press conference is about whether Trump did something wrong in hiring some general, then firing him... and then not firing him quick enough.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the US 200,000 people live within miles of a potential Chernobyl.

There is suddenly a load of Homer Simpson tweets on the twitter.

The 'tunnel' looks like a pile of earth.

What I've picked up is that they had these tunnels from the olden days, then when they didn't need them any more they filled them up with stuff and sealed them.  They don't seem to know what is in them, other than it is bad.  The fact that they've not disposed of the stuff in the tunnels suggest that it is a 'too difficult' problem for now, and that they'd prefer to do easier bits.

I hope Terry the Tuna is not anywhere near there.

Looks like the facility is so cheaply made that the offices are not even portacabins but are in fact shipping containers?

There was an item on that Tucker Carlson programme a few nights ago where a guest suggested that there is evidence in the US that some migrant run companies to the US are only employing other migrants to the US.
It was during a discussion about low wages in the US and how one of the arguments by the Democrats / Left for open borders in the US is that Americans do not wish to do the low paid low skilled jobs. It was argued that, in the real America, vast numbers of ordinary Americans are doing low-skilled, low-paid jobs but that they are increasingly being pushed out of them by the endless numbers of migrants to the US.
The Democrats / Left arguging that they need migrants because no American wants to do the jobs due to the low pay. The reality being that plenty of Americans do those jobs but are increasingly being driven out of them by migrants. You could certainly say that we have experienced similar here in the UK.
I have theorised on here, and over on TOS, for some time that once we get sufficient numbers of people of migrant backgrounds in places like the Passport Office, the So-Called BBC, social housing, Councils, etc, that plenty of them will simply favour people of their own migrant and/or ethnic background peoples over the indigenous British. In other words, they will not share the same virtue signalling or guilt that so many indigenous British people do.
So it is with interest that I see this - below - over on the Daily Mail. You do have to wonder how much of this kind of thing is going on and whether it is already occuring below the radar with sosome of the above-mentioned organisations.

I am oft reminded of the line in Star Trek: Voyager when Captain Janeway decides to help the evil Borg to defeat a mutual enemy. Seven of Nine, a former Borg herself so who better to know the mindset of the Collective Hive Mind, refuses to help her by pointing out:
