White working class children 'lack aspiration and drive' of migrant communities, says Ofsted chief

Recommended Posts

I suppose I would have lacked aspiration and drive when I was growing up and subject to actual (or fear of) gang rape by Muslim paedophile gang rapists targeting you by race.

Yes and No.

The UK attacts some of hte more pushy migrants. I nth past thats been a lot of Indians.

You could put some of the lack of drive in the white working class community down to money being doled out to all these new arrivals. They know full well thats, with high housing costs, there's no way they can earn enoughto afford housing so they follow the stay on benefit strategy.

There needw to be lhasing of benefits for UK natives.

There should be *NO* benefits paid to mgirants. in fact, any migrant should be paying for the full cost of public good they use -education and healthcare.. And then some more.

Besides, this achieving migrants seems to piss away on the second generation, more so than the natives.

It’s interesting isn’t it that they paint an incredibly complex set of scenarios as black and white (no pun intended).  What white working class?  What areas do they live? What are the job prospects?

What immigrants?  Where are they from? Which generation are we discussing?  Are these the same ones who have pool cars and kill people with them?  How nepotistic are their networks? (Note, this is not allowed for white working class)

In part but again, why are they the underclass?  Where have the jobs gone?  Is the bennie seeking underclass only white?

As soon as any white native people become properly successful they stop counting them as "working class".

Aww am I not working class anymore because I live in middle class suburbia, drive a VW and listen to classic fm? :P

Underclass are actually two parts

some are migrant communities who are bennie seekers

some are indigenous generational bennie seekers George Bernard Shaw called them the undeserving poor

Benefits for both groups meant aspiration to get on withered and died

In the same areas do live aspirational migrants.

Anecdotally I know a Brazilian lady who works very hard to help her kids get on and a Portuguese couple who moved into our area to get their kids in a good school.

As spectrum said it's much more complicated than this sound bite piece.

So nothing to do with kids in the North East having half the money spent on educating each pupil than London.

Still at least white working class kids have started eating fried chicken and watermelon as well as acquiring amazing natural rhythm.

BTW that speech was given at Wellington College an independent fee paying school. Go figure where that was coming from.

Within a generation or two, the laws and incentives the UK has created will strip them of their sense of community and family integrity and they'll be just as lost.

Top Dosbodders hint.

If you live anywhere near Wellington, they put on some fantastic food for the parents at their sporting fixtures.

The cricket sevens tournament is one of the best. Just turn up, applaud Tarquin every now and again and get eating. Might be worth getting a cab because there is usually some wine as well.

Are there any white kids in Bradford?

Schools in Bradford were getting £500 per annum spent more per pupil than those in Plymouth though the number of children eligible for free school meals (the index used to measure the need for additional funding) is identical in both towns. Again go figure what is going on.

Why do migrant families even get access to our schools?

Family member in UAE. If he wants kid educated in that country, its private school or nothing.

Fine if there is a reciprocal arrangement of similar worth in place (ie, UK born kids or parents get access in Australia), but if not, the migrants employer should have to pay such costs as a pre-requisite if they want to employ foreigners.

It's a very racist of the Ofsted chief and some would say grossly offensive.

"White working class children" just lack affirmative action.

Her explanation for poor educational performance by white working class children is word for word the same as was trotted out for black kids in the past.

The irony meter goes off the scale when you read her comments.

The fact she chose to spout the at a private school that poor kids of whatever colour, race or creed are never going to be able to attend adds the final frisson.

incidentally, Spielman has never stood in front of a school class in her life even though she is head of Ofsted.

Michael Wilshaw says;

Quote

The reason why London schools are doing so well, apart from good teachers, is that a lot of the immigrant families care about education, they value education, they support their children,

If the immigrant children (and the teachers) in London are fundamentally better for extrinsic reasons, shouldn't the funding per pupil be the same or even less than the average, rather than VASTLY more.

Average spend by school per pupil, by region 2014-15:

Inner London £5,918

England average £4,306 (so the average excluding London is substantially less)

If indeed it is a real gap (personally, i think a lot of test results are rigged...Indian kids caught up with white kids over two generations from the 1960s to 1990s which seems legitimate and organic. Meanwhile, these schools in East London chock full of Bengalis and Nigerians literally equalled then surpassed white schools inside of a few years between 1998 and 2003...something that stinks of being engineered...check out Atlanta cheating scandal. Over the years dozens of majority black school districts in the US have been found to be cheating). Anyway, as i was saying, if it is a real gap, its probably mostly due to the one issue they wont talk about, the breakdown of the family. More money will be thrown at it, and nothing will solve the underlying cause.

Surely that's a hate crime ?

Shouldn't he be forced to shell out £800 or something ?

Most of the Nigerians moving to the UK were pretty driven.

Beghali less so, by a fair whack.

Theres a strong case that white kids do worse as their parents are having to support them and the migrants families, who get it all for free.

Deny all migrants free acess to public services. Start billing them and see how they do then.

Despite the drive for educational improvemnt, most Nigerians are corrupt/bent beyond belief.
