Public register of HMO?

Recommended Posts

Is it supposed to be a public list?
I am not thinking of the landlord's side, but it does then reveal properties which are HMO - just seems unfair to have your address listed because you live in a HMO.

The council has a duty under the Housing Act 2004 to maintain a public register of all HMO licences, together with any temporary exemption notices served and details of any interim or final management orders made.

Well my local authority have listed the HMO addresses (on a FOI request rather than just referring to any list they are obliged to publish anyway) ... and it seems some other councils do too.

Ive no issue of HMO addresses being listed.

How else would you know if the place with 30 EE was licensed or not.

Im not ok with tge residents being listed but id doubt most ll would know.

Kind of related, but is there still an obligation for licensed premises to display the name of the licensee on a little plate above the door? I've noticed that on or two of the more "diverse" places around here don't have one.
