Guppies

My guppies (pet fish) are breeding... Any suggestions what I do with them? I had 6 and I now have about twenty plus... If this carries on I'll have to out them in my bath...

Anyone else have any luck selling them?

Yeah...

Having guppies opens you up to moral quandries...

like:

- is it acceptable to flush pet fish down the toilet?

- should I get a fish that eats them?

You need to get:

1 - A bigger tank

or

2 - An oscar.

Seriously though, a couple of angelfish or similar will do the job. Left to their own devices the guppies will breed until the tank filtration collapses under the strain.

Twenty guppies in a tank, one looks to the others and says "anyone know how to drive this tank"

Yes, sold a few but was happy to give them away.

Guppy Rule 1 : No females.

Advert in the paper or, if you're not being mercenary, some companies will take them for resale ("rehoming") but won't pay you for ordinary species.

This is one of my local ones and I have seen a sign there about taking fish but hadn't read it.

Was going to suggest the same.

Worked for my dad in the 80's when he kept tropical fish, not sure he was best pleased about it though.
