What about drinking straws?  Or coffee cups?

Those might actually affect the people passing the laws is why. For many, perhaps most of them, plastic bags are something only the hired help ever has to deal with.

It does suggest though that the British "economy" is increasingly going down the pan with company profits more and more reliant on ratcheting up the price of plastic bags.

It is apt that the Prime Minister herself is going to announce this significant policy initiative.

Hey ya think that's bad; Northern Ireland has recently beaten the record for the longest period without a government in peacetime, 541 days and counting:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-politics-45169397

And during those 541 days house prices in Belfast have gone up faster than most people could ever hope to save.

Upside down topsy turvy land.

Ah, ClownWorld, ridiculous, not funny though.

Extremely disrespectful and treasonous towards their electorate, not just in our country but elsewhere too- it's all part and parcel of......"Globalism"

Brilliant thread title too, as I mentioned up there.

Tbh I think the war on plastic is a good thing and probably won’t go far enough.  But as the OP says, there are rather more pressing matters to be dealing with for Britain at least. If it becomes a 3rd world shithole with no economic power it will have no ability to influence the rest of the world, which is obviously key to cleaning up the oceans.

Plastic bags are the worst potential disaster ever. Thank goodness the government are doing something.O.o

Agree although the govt are panicking cause China suddenly wont take our recycling unless its 'clean' ie if the  big bundles of plastic that get shipped are polluted by stuff that cant be recycled (like plastic bags) then they refuse to take it which means we have to lose it in landfill somewhere

Trust me this is definitely not about saving the environment, well not ours anyway!

@JoeDavola the last 541 day imho are the best arguement for small government

Despite the So-Called BBC telling us the world will end without an executive it is clearly untrue 👍

Julia Hartley-Brewer certainly provides a few laughs exposing Vince Cable's hypocrisy in the interview below.  Him getting close to the levers of power after the 2010 general election is a scary thing.

Funny. Didn't recognise any of the words (language). Suspect it might be like a Downfall spoof made by an irate Ulsterman.
