Can't be arsed anymore

Going out for dinner this evening with the Parents in law and brother / sister in law as a going away bash for son.

Just realised that I really can't be bothered with conversation.

I used to pride myself on being entertaining / witty / could make small talk with anyone but I really don't care what they think of me, I don't care what they think of anything else and I have no interest in what they have been up to or are planning to do.

There is a good chance I could just end up mute.

Is this a normal thing when you get to 50?

Well......

Nah, forget it.

Tbh, "conversations" are generally better online as opposed to real life.

Just say you are feeling sick and log in here. Bit of debate here then watch some porn then back to dosbods then have a litre of ice cream then bed.

Perfectly normal unless you are a woman.

Eventually you realise you've done most things and know everything about everybody else.

I think its called being fully grown-up.

Women can chunner on about the mundane in minute detail and are socially competitive, hence what’s little johnny doing so they can confirm whether or not their own offspring are better.

I took the blue pill, and now I have pissed on the ceiling.

Viagra was originally used to treat burns.

Had the happy side-effect of keeping the sheets off the affected area.

Happened to me from my 30s. Not that I was a great orator in the first place.

I got there at 40, most people are exceptionally dull.

Yep, I'm nearly 41 and finding the same thing. Like with my annoying work colleague I mentioned in the 'Billy Two Sheds' thread

Yep,  it goes hand in hand with no longer tolerating idiots and saying out loud things that should remain in your head!

Gervais calls it old people's rights.

Also tackles the sagging Kugelsack syndrome. Mine hit the chair before I sit down now.

I need a new hinge on the one and the other is starting to rot, I may go for a plastic one.

Beware condensation and damp with plastic and tin sheds. Pressure treated wood is best.
