Urgh AIBU?

Recommended Posts

Someone recently recommended for fancy cakes has been and done a cake stall at an event today.
Her daughter came from from school earlier in the week after a bout of stomach upset (large numbers of kids off)
Anyway the cake making has carried on and said daughter has been helping sell the cakes today as mum is now affected by the bug.

AIBU to think she's wrong to have carried on making cakes?  Loads of her potential customers will have read her stuff this week and kid being ill and now her.

Reminds me of this news story

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6148029/Eight-guests-British-wedding-Italian-resort-rushed-hospital-mystery-illness.html

Eight guests at a wedding of a British person in Lake Garda, Italy have been hit with a mystery illness.

It is not clear if the guests have food poisoning, or something more sinister, as local police attended the scene amid fears guests' drinks were spiked or food was contaminated.

The guests were celebrating in the romantic resort of Brenzone, near Verona when paramedics rushed to the scene at 2am today.

Italian police are exploring various theories, including guests may have become ill from homemade biscuit bought to the wedding by one of the guests.

Definitely should have abandoned making the cakes. I did once when child started vomiting as I was about to make birthday cake for older child's party, quick trip to supermarket to get cake problem solved.

Hate it when people spread their D&V germs. On a family holiday an in law brought their children who had been vomiting day before. Result = 6 other people spend holiday vomiting :PissedOff: and said person was a doctor!

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to think it’s wrong for someone to carry on making food for others when you have an upset stomach. Particularly for a cake stall.

The lack of common sense these days is astounding.

However, I’d bet money that loads of folk with common sense are forced into attending a job through needing the pay even though they know they’re likely to be spreading germs to others!

In the food industry one is automatically banned from site for 48 hours after symptoms have ceased.

Yes, because of course that is rigidly observed....

It is if you ring in sick. Someone I know wanted a day off so rang in with a tummy upset. Turned up the next day to be right royally pissed off to find out that they didn't want her in again yet as a dinner lady.
