Where's my Bribe?

Recommended Posts

I am feeling left out. So far, Corbyn seems to have tried to bribe :

Students. No more fees.

Pensioners. Keep tripple lock and no need to pay for care.

Government employees - end the pay rise cap

The low paid - Increase minimum wage to £10.60 per hour

Parents of young children - massive increase in free childcare, even for those that don't work.

Those on benefits - remove the cap on increases

Landlords - end the cap on Housing Benefit increases.

Apart from me, is there any section of voters he hasn't tried to bribe?

You, like me, are the one who gets to shut up and pay for it all via your taxes.

Haven't been following closely as I don't think he'll win, but that's a terrifying list.

No promises to build millions of council homes, repeal Right to Buy and release lots of land for private housebuilding then?

Don't know. Can't really keep up with the new shit coming out every day.

But again, council houses - nope, I would never qualify

And releasing land is good in theory - but will just end up with even more shitboxes at prices that no-one can afford if actually trying to pay for it in the conventional way.

I know. I regret not taking steps a few years ago. Hey ho. But I think Corbyn is insane and would absolutely ruin the country, very quickly.

I think if Corbyn did get in it would be the sign to move all of your wealth out of £'s.

currency move will be quick - the pound has lost a few cents against the Euro just by Corbyn rising in the polls, if he looks like getting in I predict 1.10 at that point and if he actually gets in I predict parity in quick time. It's not as if the EU doesn't have problems either, but a spendthrift Corbyn would trash the pound completely.

Harold Wilson has been persistently portrayed by the media as a paranoid loony despite keeping this country out of Vietnam and repeatedly vetoing Savile being awarded any honours.

Yeah after posting that I then thought that the pound would probably drop overnight if he was voted in - seems it's dropping just at the prospect of him doing so.

This the ge party broadcast?

If Labour do win then theres going to be a lot of disappointed people. Most of the things they flagged up as problems in the broadcast are down to shit publuc services.

They did flag teesside ironworks, ruined under Labour.

Hes on One show, doing a pantomine trot routine.

The funny thing is, his paranoia turned out to be justified as MI5 really did have files on him!

The people with kids too old to get tax credits
The people who just about earn too much
The people who work full time

I would add single childless people working full time on less than average wages to your list

Yes. More taxes to pay for the feckin handouts.

May tried to put up NI on the self employed by 1% and the world kicks off.

Corbyn wants to put up tax on small businesses by 6% and no one says a friggin word. And this is on top of the conservative 6% tax on dividends.

My tax bill could, in reality, go up by nearly 60% in just two years.

What is the feckin point in working.

I work with my wife. An annual shag is certainly worth considering as a perk.

They liked to give him credibility as a leftie maybe even spying for the Soviets when he along with his chancellors were bilderbergers.

Isnt that how you win elections?

Bribe just enough people to get the votes you need?

Yes, but the problem with Corbyn is he isn't doing the second part.

Pensioners are possibly the only group out of the original ones he's going to make any gains with, the rest have been locked in for Labour for years.
