So get me this straight up. You get £1000 for every winning ticket. So some people are investing £600 a month??!! :S

The pair's postcode of SO53 1JH made them a daily prize winner.

Thanks to the win, the Hursley Road neighbours have each picked up a £1,000 prize for every ticket that they hold.

That isn't quite how it works.

However, quite how it works is also complex, and not worth going into.

Suffice to say:

  • You might win a big prize
  • You might win a small prize
  • You probably won't win at all
  • Whatever it is that happens to you, the organisers definitely will get cash every week.

Ie, just like every other lottery.

Furious punters threaten to boycott National Lottery after branding Camelot rule changes an 'absolute con'

No more Raffle prizes and a limit on roll overs. Oh dear.

Three years ago when they changed the pool of numbers from 49 to 59, the had a spokesman from the Lotto on TV to explain why. He claimed "people wanted more choice " I've never heard anyone saying they played the Lotto but that they wish there more number to make it more difficult. Your chance of getting 6 numbers went from 1 in 14 million to 1 in 42 million......
