Goosebumps thread

I've always loved the song and this performance of it is immense. Garveys vocals are incredible.

The crescendo at 3.39 gives me ASMR every time;

Enjoy with headphones.

Which song gives your hairs a stiffy?

At the moment, this. Goosebumps and tears.

I can't listen to it without tears streaming down my face especially in the climax section with all the overlaid voices. It's one of the most powerful musical sequences I've ever heard. For me. But then I tend to like, er, different things to most people :)

The lyrics are important with this one.

TheGiornalisti - L'Ultimo giorno della Terra (The Last Day of the Earth)

There is nothing to understand
You just have to calm down
You have tears that taste sweet
Where do you escape like that in the middle of the night?
You just have to swear to me
That you will never do it again
Otherwise, I'm sick

The stars are falling over the rooftops of Milan
Maybe we should make love
In this seventh floor room
Asteroids come down from the sky like ships
Maybe we should hug each other again
Maybe we should go back to Rome
For the last one

Nothing happened
It is not the case to stay
All day with that big face
And do not write to me that you love me
That you do not want to go back
That you do not want to suffer anymore
Because this is not valid

The stars are falling over the rooftops of Milan
Maybe we should make love
In this seventh floor room
Asteroids come down from the sky like ships
Maybe we should hug each other again
Maybe we should go back to Rome

For the last one
For the last one
Earth Day
Earth Day
Earth Day
Earth Day

The stars are falling over the rooftops of Milan
Maybe we should make love
In this seventh floor room
Asteroids come down from the sky like ships
Maybe we should hug each other again
Maybe we should go back to Rome

That's lovely, maybe not goose-bumpy for me as I can't follow the words as they're being sung, but a nice sort of 80s-style sound but with proper Latinish singing. I imagine that's been a hit in Geneva, Italian music is popular.

It's taken from the new album Love but I don't think it has been released yet. Bound to be a single at some point. Their sound has heavy 1980s influences.

I think it's the juxtaposition (today's long word) of the beauty of the music coupled with the sadness underlying the subject that creates the emotion in me and I love songs that throw a large soundstage of multiple things at you at once.

Thanks for posting that. Worked for me too :) , and I've given Elbow a wide birth, because of 'that song', which I hated from the first time I heard it, and every time since. I may have been a bit hasty! After watching that clip a few times, I think I'm now ready to explore more of them. :)
