Anyone fancy a massive life change?

Recommended Posts

Lihou island off the coast of Guernsey, accessed by a causeway at low tide, wants a new warden as the current one is leaving after fourteen years.

Comes with house, own island with sea pool. And it's paid.

The job seems to be organising outdoor activities.

This could be the perfect job for someone - @longtomsilver maybe?

@Frank Hovis if it wasn't for the kids or lack of paragliding I'd be over there in a shot.

My doctor friend (retired) has just sold his house in our village and has nowhere to go and was looking at https://www.onthemarket.com/details/4890996/ or emigration (wife is Australian). I've sent him the link. They both scuba dive.

I'm weeks away from getting my divorce settlement which I'll put into a dozen shares (that have been getting cheaper by the day, sending the yield higher!). The income will be enough to cover my basic costs... car, fuel and rent on a houseshare with two of my best buddies in the new year.

Yes. although there'll be asian hornets and they're not good for bees.

It is hoped that a new warden will be appointed by Easter next year, so they can get support for their first season.

n Anyone interested should call Mr Curtis on 07781 120421 or email info@lihouisland.com.

Yes, maybe I should be more adventurous?

Aren't you looking for a job?

You could secrete an arms cache without informing the owners and make it mini Dosbods island for the Pinster alone.

Or, better and less miserable, be the male British version of the Norwegian woman on the recent Ben Fogle's "New Lives in the Wild" program, broadcast in October. (fabulous IMO despite her age, the most positive character you can imagine, I bet Ben was at the very least tempted - she very clearly was)

This one....

A group of New Zealanders has constructed a sand island in coastal waters in a creative attempt to avoid a ban on drinking in public places.
The group built the structure at low tide in the Tairua estuary on the Coromandel peninsula on Sunday afternoon, reports said.
They then installed a picnic table and ice box for drinks.
They claimed to be in "international waters" and thus exempt from an official liquor ban.

      Brilliant!
