Halfords also appear to be having a problem, chrome just wont work, firefox and Edge return security warnings and won't display unless you add exceptions.

Perhaps warming up for tomorrow, which will be the real black friday?

Once had a boss who asked if I could put the internet on a CD for him to use when he was travelling

Don't joke - in the very early days of the internet we did that. We sent out a copy of our website on CD for those that didn't have internet access.

I recall at the time that Huawei won loads of contracts for major parts of UK telecoms that some of us questioned whether it was a good idea or not.

One of the certificate authorities has been de-authorised* by Google and it's caused chaos. It's been known about and in the pipeline for nearly a year but it's only with the latest versions of Chrome that it's come in to force.

* more specifically any certificates issued during a certain time frame have been invalidated.
