Naythan James Ellicker I saw the bailiffs taking all the furniture 😕

Wendi Pattison Naythan James Ellicker not bailiffs! Amelia is just selling fixtures and equipment. It hasn't been repossessed or forced into closure. Very sad for Amelia and her staff.

Ryan Sheader Wendi Pattison......with a van that said "court bailifs" on the side?

Wendi Pattison Ryan Sheader auctioneers, that's all. And I speak from knowledge not speculation.

Ryan Sheader Wendi Pattison so do I.......I walked by as they were there on Wednesday.

Ryan Sheader Wendi Pattison White Van quite plainly marked "Court Bailiffs"

Maybe. Maybe not. Dont know.

There *does* seem to be a lot huge boom in pointless business, blame TCs and all these P2P small business loan companies, who seem to rquick to lend and even quicker to repo.

The two standout cohorts - and the UK has a big enoug ppulation to iron own wierd quirks - is the uptick of deaths of:

5-9 - Id guess this could be a number of things, ranging for 3rd worlds to really poorly babies being kept alive when they have died at birth, then dying a few years later.

20-24 - Stabbings. Pure n simple.

Suicide, sadly. I live next to a big bridge, and the helicopters are out almost every Saturday and Sunday morning. Not really sure why, as the bodies all wash up at exactly the same point, but I guess they need to show they're making an effort.

True, esp,. for blokes, where it runs 2-3x the female rate.

Quick Google search gives me 6000 suicides compared to 285 stabbing deaths.

Perhaps Governments should consider not making everything so shit...

I have noticed - painfully - as Ive been o nthe train a few times, an almost weekly suicide on the trains tracks bwteen ~Soton n Bmouth.

Just q uick google brinegs up several - and I eman several in the last few months.

One was a schoo lgirl, which makes it much sadder.

https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/17727705.railway-line-blocked-due-to-incident-between-bournemouth-and-brockenhurst/

https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/17724401.incident-on-railway-between-bournemouth-and-brockenhurst/

A MAN who had to be airlifted to hospital after falling onto a railway line was believed to have "lost his balance".

Paramedics and officers from British Transport Police responded to Sunday morning's incident, which happened on the line near Pokesdown railway station.

Really????

https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/17507644.person-dies-after-being-hit-by-train-at-pokesdown-railway-station/

https://www.advertiserandtimes.co.uk/suicide-brockenhurst-train-station

A MAN killed himself on the railway line at Brockenhurst in the same spot where he suffered life-changing injuries after stepping in front of a train in 2012, an inquest heard.

No escape. if they are not throwing themselves under trains, they are throwing themselves on the road.

Anecdotal Ash here. Sainsbury’s have been sending Those ‘discount’ vouchers to relatives, friends and work colleagues for months.

When I Visit the stores and people are walking around the store commenting publicly how expensive the products on sale are that’s a worry. I’ve seen recently a few Sainsbury’s staff shopping in Aldi. That’s not good as presumably they would get a staff discount there.

Michael Anthony Pearson It's so sad another business gone it was a lovely shop to visit Scarborough needs help from the local council to bring in businesses.

Felicia Holliday Very sad to hear this, we had Amelia at our wedding, with a wonderful chocolate fountain and treats. It was our anniversary this week, I hope Amelia manages to come back from this because she was brilliant xXx

Lisa Jane Smith-Louth So sad when somebody works so hard to follow their dream, good luck for the future Amelia, stay strong xx

Sharron Griffin So sad for Amelia, hope she still follows her dream.
Definitely no support from SBC re small business, my hubby has his own business.
Gutted for her and her familyxx

etcetc etc.

SBC - and all other councils - should not be helping specific businesses. They should be helping all by offering low ctax and business rates.

https://www.thescarboroughnews.co.uk/news/amelia-s-chocolate-officially-opens-new-premises-on-scarborough-s-aberdeen-walk-1-9396700

Id guess thers a lot at plays.

She moved from a cheap small place.

Then moved to a larger, more expensive place.

She wanted a cafe - they all want cafes, instant, steady cash. However ..... the costs of running a cafe are higher.

And the street is awash with cafes.

Did not make 1 year

https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/11410838/filing-history

Im guessing tax credit makework, couple splitting up.

Painful that she has a charge onthe business. Good knows why, shoiuld have done it up as cheap as poss. Or stuck to the old place.

Scabby is awash with good caffs. Awash with them. You would have to go some to outdo bodies in the town or Oliver’s outside for the view.

They direct spending to EU consumers rather the finsec.

They get germany to updates its infrastructure, which is shit.

They embark on a european wide security proram, aimed at strengthening its borders and put enough money into heavy mechanical divisions and planes that be deployed at russia.

Even if they have said they have a dedicated client account it might not be there when you need it. When the Sporting Options betting exchange went bust....

There's something dodgy gone on there -- auctioneers make a simple cut and there tends not to be high fixed costs.  There's probably some debt funded fancy deal that's gone wrong behind this (ie, not a simple 'fewer cows coming to market').

HECK foods? Lots of negative press #BoycottHeck following BoJo pr stunt  https://www.rt.com/uk/463663-boris-heck-sausages-backlash/

"Others on Twitter insisted that Heck had completely misunderstood their customer base and predicted it would be the “kiss of death” for the company."

So Heck

a) wanted a remain vote so that they could continue employing cheap EE labour; like most businesses shouting `Brexit will be the end of the world`

b) happy to compromise their `beliefs` if it means free PR; hence their statement about `working with those you don't necessarily believe in`

This is why we should ignore any businesses `opinions` on Brexit, as it was a peoples democratic vote AND not just about a single issue I.e trade, FOM, sovereign law.

Oh look, successful British startup gets bought by private equity outfit and is suddenly close to bankruptcy.

At the time, the company said it had reconfirmed a £25m revolving credit facility, £4m trade finance facility and £1.8m overdraft with HSBC until January 2021, while owner Bluegem Capital pledged to offer financial support for at least a year.

Since then Jack Wills has been rumoured to be running short of cash after burning through more than £20m injected by Bluegem.

Inventory could suffer from reduced pricing in used cars plus demand for new cars dropping.

Goodwill......meh!! What's that £265mn made up of?

https://www.investopedia.com/articles/investing/100614/goodwill-vs-other-intangible-assets-whats-difference.asp

Goodwill

Goodwill is a miscellaneous category for intangible assets that are harder to parse out individually or measured directly. Customer loyalty, brand reputation, and other non-quantifiable assets count as goodwill.

A company’s record of innovation and research and development and the experience of its management team are often included, too. Goodwill cannot exist independently of the business, nor can it be sold, purchased, or transferred separately. As a result, goodwill has a useful life which is indefinite, unlike most of the other intangible assets.

Goodwill only shows up on a balance sheet when two companies complete a merger or acquisition. When a company buys another firm, anything it pays above and beyond the net value of the target's identifiable assets becomes goodwill on the balance sheet.

I never realised before now, but Lagarde is a dead ringer for Emma Thompson, but after 20 years of hard drinking and tanning.

Lagarde in the photo up-thread looks like a shrunken head. I'd go trawling through the internet for the particular image she reminds me of, but I'm afraid the quest would give me PTSD.

Emma Thompson, on the other hand, looks fine to me ... although I can see what you mean. Maybe there's a necrophiliac filter on instagram which will morph her into a French banker?

Niether would have helped.

Jack whatis is new, a posher uk preppy GAP.

I doubt it made any money on the number of shops it was running. Sub scale/profit.

Clothes retail has changed. 20 years ago an idiot could do it, so they did.

All it took was a bullshitting bully, like Liord cuntweasel, to shout at lanflords, shout at supllierd, shout at employees, and bingo - profit.

Now, retail is all logistics software.

Lord cuntweasel can barely use a mobile.

Mike Cuntly just gets idiot relations to run stuff.

Theres no vaol out from commercial property profits, the opposite in fact.
