Mr Bercow

Recommended Posts

By convention speakers in the house of commons get made Lords.

Treason May - impressed by Bercow's recent departures from convention - has apparently decided that that's another convention that doesn't need to be followed.

John Bercow is set to become the first Speaker in 230 years to have his peerage blocked after ministers moved to punish him for “bias” during Brexit debates, The Times has learnt.

Commons Speakers are usually automatically offered a seat in the House of Lords after approval by No 10 but relations between Mr Bercow and the government have broken down.

The Speaker tore up years of precedenton Wednesday last week to change Commons rules and allow MPs to control business of the House.

“Precedents of Speakers getting peerages don’t last for ever either,” one senior Tory said last night.

Leaving aside the politics of Brexit he seems a thoroughly nasty piece of work.

Well if the Tories wont give him a peerage he will have to rely on Corbyn who wants to abolish the House of Lords.

Hes a vainglorious fucktard.

He was mega tgatcherite in his younger days.

Now hes all left wing.

Very wary of people whos politics change that much.

Well paid work if you can get it!

The speaker is supposed to be impartial.

Bercow is just another example of the failure in the uk of promoting a democratic system!

My personal view of Bercow is that he is a nobody who got lucky in life and is very well rewarded for not complying with the job description. Just a loud mouthed oaf looking after his own interests in life and abusing his position!

How much is the Speaker paid? Bercow is paid £75, 766 for being Speaker, on top of his salary for being MP for Buckingham. This makes his total salary £142,826.

He does relish the job doesn't he? When it's the turn of the leader of the opposition to speak:    'Jeremy Coooooorbyn!'

In his youth John once appeared on an episode of Crackerjack (early 1970s?). I'm sure that there must be a video of it somewhere online.

Appointed on the strength of the labour vote toward the end of gordo's reign of idiocy to piss off the tories because he is such a dick. Playing petty party politics with important parliamentary appointments says it all about how much mps care about doing a good job of representing the people.

Here's an article from everyone's favourite journalist about Bercow's great work for diplomatic relations with the US, scoring sjw points more important than relations with one of our greatest allies: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/feb/07/john-bercow-donald-trump-parliament-state-visit-speech-westminster According to his wiki, he's considering standing down in the summer, so there's that to look forward to.

That only makes sense if you don’t believe it’s all just theatre.

Crivens ya bigjob, yee'l nay speeck badly about Nac Mac Feegle

Apparently it means,

Зао ми је великог посла, да не говорите лоше о Нац Мац Феегле-у

In Serbian

Which I then back translated into English as,
I'm sorry for the big deal, do not say bad about Nat Mac Macleigh.

Still don't understand it though!

Bercow made Thatcher look far left in comparison. He was chairman of the Federation of Conservative Students in the early 80s, which was disbanded for being too extreme...by Norman Tebbit. They used to wear "Hang Nelson Mandela" T-shirts.
