It's San Remo time again - big music festival in Italy that determines who gets the chance to represent them in Eurovision. Although that's not what the contest is "for", it's a big national music event.

Simone Cristicchi - Abbi cura di me (Take care of me) - ballad

Arisa - Mi sento bene (I feel good) - catchy Abba-esque pop tune

.. and I think this was my favourite.

Loredana Bertè - Cosa ti aspetti da me (What do you expect from me) - Bonnie Tyler style vocal over a thumping synth-pop/rock backing

Our Eurovision entry this year is as shite as ever then. :CryBaby:

I recorded the show (the one where we choose our entry) and flipped through it.

Absolute shite. All of them. As always.

"You only had one job. And you had a year to do it."

I honestly think a bunch of pub-goers could write a better song over a few beers in an evening than the crock of crap on display there.

Somebody's been channelling their inner 80's synth pop band again.

(This actually sounds like a pastiche of about ten different tunes without being a direct cover of any, annoyingly none of which I can quite put my finger on).

Its almost a cross between Manfred Man's Blinded By The Light and anything by Editors..

Yes, good calls both. The whole album is an exercise in hook thievery, like the sound that might be made by OMD and Supertramp's tour buses colliding head on.
