Expensive kids coats

Recommended Posts

Don't know what they're called but apparently kids are being mugged for them round here.

800 quid on a coat? That's a family holiday cost not the amount to spend on a coat for a kid.

This is 890. The sleeves are really long and horrid. The cuffs are the same.

If I saw somebody wearing that I would assume it was a cheap coat from Matalan or somesuch.

It doesn't look remotely special or "designer".

You no eye for "fashion" Frank!. ...

Best not to give kids stuff which costs a bog load, so the parents can show off about it! Goes with that F**king Range Rover I guess?

The inability of some parents to say no is breeding another generation of entitled kids.

Just wait until the cheap credit dries up and see what happens.

my last trench coat came down to my shins and was an east german officers trench coat cost a fiver from the army and navy store mind that was about 35 years ago

You'd simply have to be the most pretentious tosser alive or have so much money that 800 quid was simply pocket change to think that was good value for money.

The two aren't mutually exclusive of course.

There are a lot of people who's life choices depend on what everyone else will think. Those of us who really don't give a toss save a fortune.

You get cash for hand-jobs down the pub.

What's the going rate?

Must be more than £20 surely, which would be 4 hand jobs per M&S coat.

Depends on pub n how fit and big titted the woman is.

A big boobed well kept 30yo can get 50 for fri n sat night, 7 to 12. If she gets bought drinks at a rate of 4 n hour, which she cashes in, thats another 70 on to, getting near 300 for the weekend, so 1200 for a good month.

Handrelief etc is not allowed in most pubs, too much upset.

I think a grand on a coat is "reasonable" if you're an adult and not going to grow out of it. However kids will grow out of this jacket in an year or so..

Spending this on a kid is stupid IMHO.

Spending big money on young children's clothes is mental IMO.

If they don't grow out of it they will destroy it.

That's if you can get them into the bloody thing in the first place.

Or they don't get a knife put to them to help remove it from them

Kids rob each other for minor things. I hope those Pokemon cards are worth something.

Going to confess that we did get the son an $800 Canada Goose coat at Christmas.

Over the next four years I think it will prove a good investment.

Don’t know where he is but given the propensity for these things to spread I’d be tempted to get him another cheaper one until the fad has passed a bit.

It is that "label" that just says "rob me, I am rich". Very dangerous in some parts.

Quite worrying but he is in a fairly small town in Iowa so should be ok.

And at 6'4" he is the smallest in his crowd.

I've got a £500 Dainese snowboarding jacket I found in TK.Maxx for £150. It is a lovely warm jacket but I never wear it as I'd worry about losing it.

That's silly! You got a "deal" so you now have to wear it.

As mentioned before, all driven by companies like Klarna who offer credit willy-nilly to bennie fiends, paid over a few months,  no credit checks etc. It's the default option for payment on chavvier sites like JD Sports now. Only problem is if you miss a payment they charge you £16 a week or something. Definitely the next phoney payday loan 'scandal' where those who can't say no get to blame someone else for their avarice.

Not sure you are quite getting this. These a really expensive coats for kids, that will be too small for them in a year. Not that sports shop tat.

Well, I’ve never spent almost £900 on a coat for myself and never would. I have a variety of coats for use in varying weather conditions and they all do the job I require of them. Only three purchased new for weather conditions < £200 and the rest second hand finds under £30 that suit my dressing style.

Utter madness to pay nearly £900 for any coat IMO but for growing kids it’s daft.

The only thing I spent a lot of money on my kids when they were growing was decent leather shoes that fitted their foot properly.

I had never heard of them. I am sure they are nice, but not at that price.
