At last, Boris is good for something

Boris Johnson today backed calls for a shake up of how the UK's billions of pounds in overseas aid is spent.

The former foreign secretary endorsed a report by Tory MP Bob Seely urging the money to be focused on areas such as peacekeeping and the So-Called BBC World Service.

The intervention comes after years of pressure from Conservative backbenchers to rethink the legal commitment to spend 0.7 per cent of national income - roughly £14billion a year - on foreign aid.

But former Cabinet minister Andrew Mitchell accused Mr Johnson of acting like a 'pirate whose eye has alighted on this plump Spanish galleon' to plug other holes in government budgets.

And Andrew Mitchell (the man of the people no less) can fuck off

It should be used to pay for any British troops posted abroad, any benefits paid to non-Brits and for NHS/education costs for non-Brits.

Anything left can be used to run the embassies.

Sorry I can't agree with the title of this thread. He is good for absolutely  fucking nothing, unfit for public office.

Entitled, arrogant, overbearing, overprivileged blowhard who has been demonstrably incompetent in every single role he's ever occupied except reading the autocue on HIGNFY and despite this appalling record still retains ambition to be PM.

Whatever it is, whatever he's saying, he'll get it wrong and fuck it up, either deviously/deliberately or by incompetence. It's nailed on. It'll probably be some pet project of his or one of his Eton mates that he wants this money for.

In many of these places, he created video reports detailing local conditions and some of the NGO projects aimed at ameliorating them.

What? "NGO projects" ameliorating them like sending them to Britain using NGOs and NGO taxi boats across the mediterranean into europe and then onwards.

Indeed crossing the med just like Spanish pirate galleons plumply feeding off the British taxpayer (not to mention all the reported Soros funding as well).  It sounds a more lucrative trade than anyone could have possibly imagined .

Is that where lots of the British £billions of "aid" goes.

It's also a bit rich of the pious and self righteous bbc wanting to grab £billions of aid money for themselves but maybe not at all surprising.  Maybe they could contribute some of it to Tommy Robinson's good causes and good charities.  As if.
