Some Catholic churches in Dublin are set to introduce contactless payment card machines to allow Mass-goers to make financial donations to the church

Not being one of the flock it still amazes me that after all the sex scandals, laundry’s, baby selling etc people still attend and give money to such people

Without the money the Church closes and in many parishes the Church is the focal point.   In Dublin Mosques are popping up everywhere, no funding problems for them.  Would you prefer a Islamic ROI or a Christian ROI?

I’d prefer a secular ROI , UK and every other country

And to have a decent shot at thread title of the year 👍😜

Expensive private student accommodation / halls of residence was built a couple years ago in central Belfast. It's almost as expensive as renting a one bed apartment to rent a single room there, so for rich students only.

last year it was only Asian folks I saw in it (the common room is on the ground floor),. A couple of weeks back as I passed I noticed several young women wearing hijabs sitting it it - I would guess this means there's more wealthy Muslim students travelling to NI to study. Will be interesting to see if that results in more Mosques.

Guaranteed.  The Mosques will be set up be in small halls, rented or bought.  You won't realise that there is a Mosque.  When there are enough of these small Mosques you will see planning permission going in for a proper Mosque.

Right behind the queens university main library there's a big double fronted detached house that is the 'Muslim family association' or something, I occasionally pass by as they're heading to or from what I guess must be a prayer meeting and the street is flooded with folk.

From queens uni up to that new block of halls in shaftbury square are is the most densly 'enriched' area of the city afaik, many shops carry halal signs on them now, I could see that area changing in a big way over the next 20 years.

There have been fiddlers in schools as well - but strangely enough people still send their kids to schools.

There have been rapers and (g)ropers in taxis - but people still use them!

I remember being at a house party opposite the Islamic center  20 years ago. Can't remember what street it was.   That was the first Islamic "presence" I saw in NI.

Give it 5 years and the Shaftbury area will be a 3rd world shit hole.

It's well on its way even now. Perhaps your right it'll only take another 5 or 10 years. I've certainly seen a notable difference in the last 5.
