Another 16-17 yr old isn't it?

Yes I think so

School staff received an anonymous tip-off at 10.40am on Monday that an armed group was travelling to the sixth-form college on a train from Manchester.

Lancashire Police sent two officers to the campus ahead of pupils leaving at the end of the day. They called for back-up after about 12 people arrived at 4pm in a Volkswagen Polo, a Vauxhall Astra and a Nissan Micra.

Some of the group were carrying knives and threatening students, the force said.

A 17-year-old boy suffered a cut to the arm and was taken to Chorley Hospital. His injuries were not thought to be serious

Presumably the train was delayed?

So, given that the cars have number plates, there should be arrests shortly

Bit odd,

They traveled by train and arrived by car - so, nicked cars?

Ah, didn’t spot that contradiction. As you say, odd. Mind, the state of reporting, what actually happened is anyone’s guess

If they're doing their job properly.  If they were doing their job properly they would have been arrested on the spot possibly under Public Order law.

Lovely.

No deterrent. Scum like this can kill you today and be out on the streets in less time than it takes to do a degree or train as a plumber.

This.

There's nothing stopping them from being twats so I don't know why we're surprised that we've got so many of them.

In the States, as you know, the moment he revealed that blade a cop would have ended him. Not so tough then when lying as a bleeding corpse on the ground.

As things stand that shit could wave his blade, nick an artery and an innocent person is dead. Would he feel anything? Would he get adequately punished? This country is now a war zone.

Picked up by friends in the area?

Maybe friends who were the source of whatever the problem was in the first place.  20 men arriving at a school mob handed carrying knives and who knows what else is very odd indeed.  Was it a religious dispute or something or maybe kids dealing drugs and taking over the territory.

It's like something out of St Trinian's but serious.

Maybe, or maybe accidentally shot an innocent bystander, or his partner?

I don't disagree with your sentiment and I think much anger boils in people when they see this sort of carry on because they feel helpless and hand tied, unable to react or deal with this in an all powerful right and mighty way.

Let's not compare with the USA where someone was 4.5 times more likely to be the victim of an intentional homicide in 2016 than in the UK.

Daily event:

POLICE have launched an attempted murder probe after a man was stabbed in the back in a city centre park.

Officers were called to East Park, Southampton, shortly before 8pm yesterday (March 4) after reports of a serious assault.

Be aware of your surroundings - don't have headphones on or stare at your phone. A warship uses beyond visual range to listen and see potential enemies. Use your eyes and ears in the same way if you sail through a park.

Id say EE then, considering location.

Too young to be street drinkers.

I think we might be at White Van Syndrome stage - if we start looking for White Vans, then we see more white vans.

Shocking moment woman 'pulled knife' on toddler in Drake Circus

----

Either people on the edge, hear more news stories about knife attacks, and then decide to grab a knife and go out and try something, or they have put something in the water... or some sort of "Order 66" has been activated.
