A grandfather says he was left bloodied and bruised after a gang of youths knocked him to the floor when he failed to give them cigarettes.

John Patton, 69, was walking home in Loftus, North Yorkshire on Saturday night when he said he encountered a group of four boys and two girls.

The retired electrician was with a friend just off West Road at around 9.45pm when the youngsters asked for cigarettes, but the situation quickly turned violent.

No.

Loftus has always been a bit shit.

Rought arse mining town.

Its very strange. like theyve uplifted a load of inner city terraces and plunked them in the middle of nowhere.

Its probably got rougher as, with Boulby laying off and the steel works, people who worked have gone, beingreplaced by people who dont work.

Again, draw a line from Scaling to Steers.

Anywhere north of that Line and to the East of Gussy Road is a loon shittip. You get a mild brak in Slatbun but some of he villages just have to be seen to be believed - Boosbeck for one.

Boulby. Or the old ones - which were iron and cola aroudn there, way back.

I knew someone who lived down the bottom in steers and walked to work at Boulby. Really weird.

The area is wierd.

You go thru lovely little places like ROxby, then bang, you are in somewhere that looks and feels like Grnage Town.

You shoul get the bus up and go for a drink - x4 runs late-ish. Start one night in Steers. Then  try Skiningrove or Easington.

Boulby is modern, would not have had an impact on the area. Also relatively small workforce. Iron?  When was the last time that was mined in the area. Skinninggrove is where there is still (some) industrial impact

Not as strange as South Cleatlam, on the way out towards Barnard Castle. One street of terraced miners cottages, middle of nowhere.

Going to the opposite extreme, there is Upleatham, between loftus and smoggy land and it is an incredibly nice village.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Upleatham

Stockton is like that too, scenic in parts and then you turn the corner...

Other random musings.

It is a bit Wicker Man-esque as most people you meet come across as a bit thick but after a while you figure out that's just a front.

There's little chance I'd imagine of churches being burned down here.

Never been to Loftus, but it sounds like a case of local chavs rather than what's happening elsewhere in the country and is arguably even worse - where London boroughs are paying huge money to the local council to ship out their scummy chavs and migrants that are sitting in social housing, to a nice new shiny house in the countryside.

I could read you chapter and verse about that happening and my particular experiences with it.

I also know some people who took a whopping hit on their houses as the local council saw fit to move the absolute scum of the earth into the houses next door to them. Apparently moving these people into nice areas helps them to settle and perhaps some of the civilised people around them will be instrumental in influencing these people so as they don't behave like complete cunts, no?

No.Total opposite. In fact worse.

God help you if you find yourself next door to one of these arseholes, that's all I can say.

I'm potentially about to be surrounded by several hundred "affordable housing" slaveboxes, likely to be bought up by Lewisham Borough Council before the foundations even go in, so they can offload all their scummy tenants (41% white British) down to Kent and forget about them.

Run.

Seriously, most of the ones I've seen are basically flat-packed council estates. You don't want to be there when Wayne and Waynetta are handed the keys.

Not just London, that’s happening in Woking too. The shitty area that used to be full of chav scum has been “redeveloped”, and all the white trash induced to move out to Wales with the promise of bigger houses.
