Ambient, Psychedelia, Electronic

Not sure if we already have a thread for this genre yet?

After heavy night(s) out raving in my younger days I’d listen to this sort of thing to try and return to normal. I later realised I actually preferred this kind of music.

Here are a few of my favourites...

Carbon Based Lifeforms - MOS 6581

Bluetech - Misaki

Boards of Canada - Everything You Do is a Balloon

Portishead - Western Eyes

I gues that Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side of the Moon' would suit this thread.

An era gone. Gotta say I hated it. Never liked this "ambient stuff" either.

Does this qualify? Always loved the chicks accent, sounds like a True Romance era Patricia Arquette 😍 but it probably isn’t

Love this kind of stuff. As with the OP, I suspect I rewired my brain somewhat back in the day, hence my listening to weird shit like this...

Pink Floyd - Echoes is a work of genius and not totally dissimilar to what I listen to now.

It was written in 1970, before I was even born!

Mokadelic's work for the best TV series ever made, Gomorrah, is one of the things that really makes the show.

This is the big track. It cuts in about a minute before each episode ends - really unusual. I can't describe the feelings and emptions, the roller-coaster ride of the series. As good as TV gets.

This album used to be utter bliss after a chemically enhanced night out.

Can't believe it's over 20 years old

( The part from 24:40 still gives me rushes..)

That's it; 'Coil' are now officially my favourite group of all time.

If you like New Age/Tribal/Pagan/Shamanic etc. then this is just about as good as it gets, trippy as fuck, lol.

Their lives were suitably tragic as well.

That first Bicep track sounds a bit Orbital...

...another Bicep track, which is quite drum & basey...I see that that they're on Ninja Tune, which sort of makes sense...
