Deaf at a music festival? Never mind.

Ay carumba, that is a very pointless thing to do.

Tara Asher specialises in signing grime music, one of just four working in the UK.

She interpreted Stomzy's headline set at Glastonbury 2019, working as the star performed on the Festival's iconic Pyramid stage.

She'll also be interpreting other Glastonbury gigs for fans across the weekend, including Lauryn Hill and George Ezra.

A mate at work told me a tale about some bloke in South Africa who blagged a job on national TV doing the sign-language - despite not actually knowing any.

He then just made any old shit up with his hands until someone complained and he got the sack.

I so want that story to be true...

That was the guy featured prominently during Nelson Mandela's funeral.

UK deaf news blog The Limping Chicken said the sign language interpreter had a "strange repetitive rhythm to his movements", and "the structure of his hand and body movements didn't seem to change no matter what the speaker was saying".
