The Guardian to be sued (at last)

Thought that Covington kid s lawyers were going after them. Don't know if they have jurisdiction but the threat was there.

From what I heard, they were going to absolutely crucify them.

Strangely enough, that seems to have gone quiet. Can't think why....

What's interesting is that the Grauniad seems to be suggesting that the Darroch affair was engineered by Brexiteers, presumably to remove a pro-EU ambassador from his post.

Yet quite a lot of people on Guido Fawkes are suggesting that it is a scorched-earth action by May to discredit the Special Relationship.

Craig Murray, who used to work with Darroch, says he is a rude and aggressive bully and the leak was most simply a revenge attack.

Hate me for this.

If they stuck to non political stuff....a real tough call...like nature and science...for the most part...they would be fine.

And to be honest this is increasingly difficult to find without some hard left spin.

Anything out with this is just partisan crap. Not worth clicking. No ad revenue.

Doomed to the dustbin.

Wonder what the punishment will be?

Pay the judges parking ticket tab?

Seems all these lefty protestors get convicted, and then issued with some symbolic 50p fine, because 'decency, if not the letter of the law, is on their side', the brave hoodlums.

And then theres Tommy. Make a rapist claim he feels uneasy...10 years in Pentonville

No punishment.

The Grauniad have realised they were on a hiding to nothing here and have backed down, surrendered - paid a 5-figure sum to charity and issued a grovelling apology. Because that's far cheaper than letting this go to court, losing massively and picking up the plaintiff's costs into the bargain.

Which is what they should have done in the first place instead of trying to weasel their way out of it.

No, strike that! They shouldn't have let such an obvious smear go to press in the first place! Someone, somewhere should have had the guts or integrity to say to the idiot who penned the libel in the first place, "You know, an untruth like this, implying that a journalist is a whore just because they got a controversial story that embarrasses some of the establishment figures you suck up to, is a really, really, potentially career-ending bad move!"

But they didn't.
