This says a lot about the UK economy (which nobody is keen to talk about).

As an owner of multiple businesses (some in the UK ... but mostly Germany and Argentina) I have seen UK retail trade business trade drop to Europe directly ...

I am not Anti - Brexit ... I even funded it myself ...  but I now accept that importing from Europe has become much more expensive (Which is why I am looking to move all my UK businesses to Germany in the next year .

I think the closure's of these businesses , Is the fact that in lockdowns... companies now cannot pay back the loans they took from Banks / Governments added with high energy prices and huge inflation.... it was certain to happen.

I think this was done on purpose to close the smaller businesses down , so big corporates could buy everything at huge discounts.

Brexit may not be the "Cause" but it certainly is not helping the SME's ....

Too many zombie companies have been propped up over the last 15 years.

Clearing the deadwood is a good prerequisite before we Go For Growth :)
