This says a lot about the UK economy (which nobody is keen to talk about). 

As an owner of multiple businesses (some in the UK ... but mostly Germany and Argentina) I have seen UK retail trade business trade drop to Europe directly ... 

I am not Anti - Brexit ... I even funded it myself ...  but I now accept that importing from Europe has become much more expensive (Which is why I am looking to move all my UK businesses to Germany in the next year . 

I think the closure's of these businesses , Is the fact that in lockdowns... companies now cannot pay back the loans they took from Banks / Governments added with high energy prices and huge inflation.... it was certain to happen. 

I think this was done on purpose to close the smaller businesses down , so big corporates could buy everything at huge discounts. 

Brexit may not be the "Cause" but it certainly is not helping the SME's ....
