Unfortunately, it’s the first thing they reduce or remove. Look at how much the dole pays out and that’s based on stamp and only lasts six months.

The whole thing is a complete perversion of Beveridge. To add insult it is all taxable income where most non contributory benefits are not. 
 

The targets for Beveridge were

• want (caused by poverty)
• ignorance (caused by a lack of education)
• squalor (caused by poor housing)
• idleness (caused by a lack of jobs, or the ability to gain employment)
• disease (caused by inadequate health care provision)

 

Despite the countless billions thrown at want I reckon ignorance, squalor, idleness and disease are all still going strong in the U.K. in 2022.

Cancer care Charities, Homeless charities, mental illness charities, Old people care charities,, We have a Charity for everything the Government has failed to provide!

Would you say countries with the highest taxes,, Norway for example have a great standard of living,,

Somalia have the lowest taxes in the world.. 

America have low taxes now, but it really only benefits the richest and increases the wealth gap.. and as highlighted above 46 million Americans risk death because they don't have an NHS, so no healthcare.

If the government were not stealing all the money I would like to pay taxes for them to provide good services

The Soviet system all of your labour..your life belonged to the State.  Same with all totalitarian regimes even pre C20th.   But the USSR died, and you now have a post-soviet system, which takes less from workers than what we have.

What you have now is crooked system, under which companies and individuals profit excessively from Government contracts.  There's always this danger, that they'll scam the civil service or influence the bidding process.  Thats why we   have accountants and the legal system to keep it under control.  I have the distinct impression, (especially during the Covid 19 episode) that this works poorly.

We used to have a health system that provided a tolerable level of service, for the average person, despite being expensive to run.  Now despite having loads of money spent on it, is very patchy in delivery.   The US system, they say can provide high quality, innovative care for those that can afford it.  For the rest, well not so good at all.

During WW2 we could not feed 47 million people..

We cant feed 67 million people,, all imported food.. 

What's the definition of overpopulation? Not being able to feed your population I would say is it!

 

We have lower immigration levels than most of Europe, go to Brussels in Belgium,, that's an eye opener.

The country is not bankrupt because of immigrants, its bankrupt because the rich have stolen all the money.

I'm against immigration as population increase never makes a country better, more concrete, more mess, shit, pollution, crime,, overpopulation reduces living standards
