Two companies have been fined a total of £48,000 for '˜reckless' failings to meet fire safety mesaures at a Scarborough hotel.

Marine Residence

Following an anonymous tip-off in December 2016, fire safety officers from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service visited Marine Residence and found a number of serious deficiencies.

The fire alarm at the Belmont Road hotel was ‘inappropriate’ and did not sound below the ground-floor, meaning sleeping guests would not have been alerted of a fire.

and just think, the govt will contract you to house 5000 albanians for 20 years, plus the locals will be so pleased youll be like a hero to the area, a guy saving thousands of refugees lives, selfless and philanthropic right up the end (which will be when 5000 albanians descend on you with lidl bought ceramic kitchen knives).

Take a deium to large, expensive-ish hotel.

Convert it to single rooms - buy a hotel room! 10% yiekd!!!

And some money was spent in that conversion - 30k room/flay by tge FB vud.

Sell - and I'm not 100% they sold in 2016.

Get sued in 2018. Shut down 2018- 2020 not sure.

Burn down 2022.

Get reduced to rubble 2023.

7 years.
