I move in next Friday.. I could not face giving anymore of my hard earned money to my landlord..

my landlords who have 4 houses and no job!

In their 50’s.. been retired since their 40’s..

living off other people’s hard work..

Ps.. I still hope prices crash..

I May have bought a home, but I have kids, I have cousins who all need a home.. not to be used as cash cows for greed..

no one should be denied a home..

Hahaha - where we live!

To be fair it does have 4 bedrooms and 3 reception rooms. Mrs B's choice not mine. It does have a large shed though for me to sit in.

Agreed.

We went for a larger house than our actual immediate needs because my Mother in Law stays with us for 3-4 months which is helpful as Jnr gets older. Also most of our social life is based around the home as we tend to invite friends round and get invited to theirs. Most are Persians of whom have a wide range of incomes so its fair on those with lower incomes to socialise like this as restaurants are un-affordable.

I was about to buy too. Vendor pulled out when the electric/gas survey revealed that EVERYTHING needed replacing. The engineers had to carry out emergency repairs on parts of the gas system because of how messed up it all was. Approx 15k to get everything redone - the vendors refused to budge on the price. The property had been on the market since October, mine was the only offer they received.

Seriously hope they regret this in a few months. They bought the house for approx 1/3 of what they are selling it for 20+ years ago and they are quibbling over 15k. Unbelievable greed.

Similar thing happened to me in the early 90s. It was a probate sale.  Daughter was a complete snob and not a very nice person.

Anyhow, house valuation came back a lot less than what we had offered. Offered to meet halfway which I thought generous. No, came the reply, you need to stick to your agreement. Oh do fuck off was the response. Walked and bout somewhere else

she ended up getting a lot less than what we would have paid. xD

Fingers crossed in 3 - 6  months its still on the market and I can put in an absolutely ludicrous offer. If it fucks them off = success. If they accept = double success :wanker:

Find somewhere else. They would see it as defeat to sell to you at a lower price.

Agree we reluctantly bought a house in Oct probably already worth less than we paid. I hope prices go down can't see how they can keep increasing with future generations having lower wages, student debt, IRs close to zero and high multiples already.

We pulled out of one before as survey revealed everything needed doing, 100k work and vendor would not lower price. Still not sold now.

They probably wouldn't move on the price because they would think you must like it so much you have to have it.

Jesus fucking christ. Housing is like nothing else, people have such an emotional attachment that logic goes out the window.

Yes yes. Once one awakens to the level of mind control joe pleb is under regarding house prices one can see more clearly other subjects of mass scale mind control applied to the populous...

And if that offends you, have a little think about why that might me 🧐

Quite often its bring a dish. however when its at ours its always an English Sunday lunch so Mrs B can pass the duties to me9_9. Out next turn is May - they will be getting Turkey as we have a MOFO of one in the Freezer which we should have had at Xmas but didn't because my Dad pegged it.

We got 30K off the place we have bought which Mrs B deems to be a major success - yeah 5.8% of asking.....

you think that turkey will still be good? even in the freezer.

<-18 deg C basically preserves food forever.

Give it a good massage with butter, put some water in the tray, wrap in foil and the jobs a goodun.

Back in my rural EHO days I used to inspect small seasonal slaughterers  in the run up to Xmas. By Xmas day I had at least 12 Turkeys in the chest Freezer;)

Kept me going all year.

Congratulations Kurt.

It makes no odds if they crash because you're buying it to live in it not to flip it.

Did I read your saying you were starting home brewing? If so that's exactly what I did when I bought mine.  A combination of having the space to do it and a prior reluctance to buy all the bulky kit knowing that I would have to keep moving it.

Well done. So does the mortgage compare to the rent? I agree with the FU LL. Took some balls to buy at what could be the top of the market.
