Boohoo falls to deeper loss in ‘difficult market’

Fast-fashion retailer Boohoo blamed “difficult market conditions, caused by high levels of inflation and weakened consumer demand for falling revenues and a big increase in pre-tax losses in its financial year to the end of February.

Revenue fell 17 per cent from the previous year to £1.46bn; pre-tax losses were £159.9mn, after losses of £90.7mn a year earlier.

The retailer, which also owns Karen Millen, Debenhams and PrettyLittleThing, benefited from a boom in online shopping during the pandemic but has struggled as people return to in-store shopping. Over the past year its active customer base fell 11 per cent and the number of orders fell 13 per cent.

Im starting to wonder if this it and the earning limits originally put in place  ~10y ago, and now rapidily raised is destroying the whole scam Muzz economy.

The usual pakistani business of start used car dealership, sell dodgy motors to desperate people at the bottom end of the market, delay & obfuscate when they want redress, then wind up company, defaulting on obligations once as much money has been pocketed as possible, then rinse/repeat might be a little more serious with this size of company.

No idea why anyone does business with them. Even buying a kebab when drunk takes a lot of consideration on my part. Plonking £1-5k on a car that is almost guaranteed to be a wreck is mind boggling.
