It was everything.

A few years ago, retail 'genius' was sporting cash on any failing retailer.

Cretin was taking equity stakes too. Moron.

No.

New life: Mrs Ashley, the mother of Mike Ashley's three adult children, had a son Tyler, pictured together in 2006, with Simon Brodin, an ex-boyfriend of S Club 7 pop star Rachel Stevens

Wrong.

The traditional time to give somebody a good kicking is Friday night, shortly after the pubs kick out.

Or a Visa.

She is Swedish with a degree in Economics.

I would of thought that their would have been easier (and more pleasant) ways for her to get a visa than marrying Mike Ashley - particularly when he was poor.

That is an interesting point, does having money allow your real personality emerge from the well hidden shadows, or has he always behaved in an unsavory manner ?

Tales of outrageous behaviour in supplier meetings have always been a staple of industry gossip.
A bit of a rep certainly doesn’t harm though. If the reputation is one of a perfect gentleman it just means they’re getting a proxy to play hardball when it’s needed.

People still play the nice cop/nasty cop games when negotiating with suppliers / customers ?

Daft bint.

They dont have an issue with their people. Its a fucking retailer.

They have a problem with a lot of stores that are not hitting their fucking numbers.

Shazza needs to work on a quick n dirty 'Is this store worth keeping open?' test. And apply it, quickly.

People go when the store goes.

That's not what people strategy is.

What she's said is code for 'we're trying to work out how to give our staff the biggest possible shafting'

My aunty worked for John Lewis in Solihull for years. She loved it. Which somehow ended up with her daughter spouting a line that still generates endless laughs when it comes up:

'shut up mum, you bum John Lewis'

Pointless filler makes BBC

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-53881214

John Lewis is planning to replace its famous promise to match rivals' prices as its new boss plans radical changes to the business.

"Never knowingly undersold" has become harder to defend as competition from online retailers has become ever tougher.

The new chief executive Sharon White told the Sunday Times she expected the price pledge to go.

The slogan has been in place since 1925.

"The proposition is important because it signifies being fair to society. We're reviewing it to improve it," Ms White told the Sunday Times.

What the fuck does that even mean?

Is she really pledging to be *more* expensive??

Reviewing it to improve it????
