Think the other key issue is how we qualify covid deaths with/without vaccine.

COVID-19 is much less deadly in the non-elderly population than previously thought, a major new study of antibody prevalence surveys has concluded.

 

 

 

The study was led by Dr. John Ioannidis, Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology at Stanford University, who famously sounded an early warning on March 17th 2020 with a widely-read article in Stat News, presciently arguing that “we are making decisions without reliable data” and “with lockdowns of months, if not years, life largely stops, short-term and long-term consequences are entirely unknown, and billions, not just millions, of lives may be eventually at stake”.

In the new study, which is currently undergoing peer-review, Prof. Ioannidis and colleagues found that across 31 national seroprevalence studies in the pre-vaccination era, the average (median) infection fatality rate of COVID-19 was estimated to be just 0.035% for people aged 0-59 years and 0.095% for those aged 0-69 years. A further breakdown by age group found that the average IFR was 0.0003% at 0-19 years, 0.003% at 20-29 years, 0.011% at 30-39 years, 0.035% at 40-49 years, 0.129% at 50-59 years, and 0.501% at 60-69 years.

The study states that it shows a “much lower pre-vaccination IFR in non-elderly populations than previously suggested”.

A breakdown by country reveals the wide range of IFR values across different populations.

 

 

 

Infection fatality rate (IFR) and 95% confidence interval per country for people under 70 years old.

The significantly higher values for the top seven suggest some of the difference may be an artefact of, for example, the way Covid deaths are counted, particularly where excess death levels are similar. Note also that the antibody studies date from various points during the first year of the pandemic, most of them prior to the large winter wave of 2020-21, when levels of spread and numbers of deaths were more varied than later in the pandemic as subsequent waves caused countries to converge.

The reason some countries had much lower values and some much higher is not completely clear. The authors suggest that “much of the diversity in IFR across countries is explained by differences in age structure”, as per the plot below.

However, the age breakdown by country suggests that the IFR differed for each age group in each country, casting doubt on that suggestion. (In the chart below, note the logarithmic scale, and ignore the zig-zag lines, which are due to small countries having low numbers of deaths.)

Why are countries seeing differing IFRs even for the same age groups? The authors suggest a number of explanations, including data artefacts (e.g. if the number of deaths or seroprevalence are not accurately measured), presence and severity of comorbidities (for example, obesity affects 42% of the U.S. population, but the proportion of obese adults is only 2% in Vietnam, 4% in India and under 10% in most African countries, though it affects almost 40% of South African women), the presence of frail individuals in nursing homes and differences in management, healthcare, overall societal support and levels of drug problems.

 

 

 

Prof. Ioannidis has previously published a number of papers estimating COVID-19’s IFR using seroprevalence surveys. He and his team conclude that their new estimates provide a baseline from which to assess further IFR declines following the widespread use of vaccination, prior infections and evolution of new variants such as Omicron.

New Zealand voters have aired their frustration with Jacinda Ardern’s government at the ballot box, as Right-wing parties surged ahead in local elections.

Conservative candidates in Auckland, Christchurch, Invercargill and Rotorua all elected conservative mayors. 

Only Wellington voted otherwise, electing the Greens’ candidate - but Labour’s candidate in the election came in fourth place. Dunedin opted for an independent.

The council elections, which are held during September and October, confirmed the results of a recent opinion poll, which found the Right-wing National-ACT NZ coalition had increased its lead over the Labour-Greens coalition by the largest margin since May.

The Roy Morgan survey put the two conservative parties 6.5 per cent ahead of the coalition government.

However, the turnout in the recent vote was just 36 per cent, four points lower than in 2019.

Biden – in which NCLA Legal is representing plaintiffs including Jay Bhattacharya and Martin Kulldorff against the Biden administration for its coercion of social media companies to violate free speech during Covid.

Discovery documents in the case previously revealed a vast federal censorship army, with more than 80 federal officials across at least 11 federal agencies having secretly coordinated with social media companies to censor private speech, in what plaintiff Aaron Kheriaty described as potentially “the most serious, coordinated, and large-scale violation of First Amendment free speech rights by the federal Government’s executive branch in U.S. history”.

“After finding documentation of a collusive relationship between the Biden Administration and social media companies to censor free speech, we immediately filed a motion to get these officials under oath,” Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, attorney for the plaintiffs, said in a statement. “It is high time we shine a light on this censorship enterprise and force these officials to come clean to the American people, and this ruling will allow us to do just that. We’ll keep pressing for the truth.”

“For the first time, Dr. Fauci and seven other federal officials responsible for running an unlawful censorship enterprise will have to answer questions under oath about the nature and extent of their communications with tech companies,” said NCLA attorney Jenin Younes.

Probably discussed upstairs - watched the Dr John excess baby deaths investigation video this morning. Grim viewing.

First up: public health experts have ruled out a connection between mums having the jibby jab and increased neonatal deaths *without* examining the mothers' vaccine status.  'No public health reason to do so' says Public Health Scotland. Okaaaay.

Most shocking to me was the reference to the article in The Telegraph where a hospital had incorrectly classified births where the baby had died within minutes (although one baby survived for five days) as stillborn. Dr J went on to explain at some length that UK coroners (which he praised highly) can only hold inquests for babies who 'show signs of life' after being born. This has prompted accusations of the hospital avoiding scrutiny.

Agreed.What I find intriguing is that he's doing what a good clincian should,reflecting on what he s got wrong and what appears to have gone right/what could have gone better etc.

He was originally pro vaxx iirc and much like Aseem malathora has walked towards the light as the evidence has been presented.

He has intereviewed some people who have really suffered psot jab and he wasn't blinded by the BS from the MSM(who haven't really got much of a clue tbh)

'walked towards the light' is a beautiful way of putting it.  Been quite fascinating over the past two and a half years to see the path he's trod. Mountain biker Kyle was the real turning point for his channel, I think. 

Where he is now is red (black?) pill limbo, but he's clearly got a strategy to hold on as long as possible. He can't hold his hands up and say 'I was wrong about the vaccines and I'm sorry' because YouTube is surely looking for any reason to delete the channel.  But every broadcast now feels like a mea culpa. My view is that he sees his purpose in life now - perhaps his legacy - to wake people up.

The U.K.’s main university application body is still imposing vaccine mandates on students applying for nursing and social care courses, despite the sector struggling to fill a staff shortage of tens of thousands, a GB News investigation has found.

Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) currently says on its website further education candidates must have the Covid jab as part of the entry requirements.

At least 10 universities are also imposing the mandate on their web pages where applicants can find more information about the courses.

One even tells students it is “illegal” to not divulge their status.

The Covid mandate for nurses and frontline care workers was dropped by the Government in March following a campaign by GB News.

The investigation by GB News and the Farage programme, which airs Monday to Thursday at 7pm, found would-be students applying via UCAS are greeted with this message: “You should be aware that from April 1st 2022, all NHS and Social Care personnel (including students) will be required to have completed an approved course of vaccinations against COVID-19 before they can be deployed in roles that involve face-to-face contact with patients/service users.

“If you are unable, or unwilling, to be vaccinated at this time, and cannot satisfy our placement providers that you are medically exempt, we will not be able to provide you with the practice placements necessary to complete your health and social care degree. If this is the case, you may wish to look at an alternative programme or career path.”

The Government faced criticism earlier this year when it told NHS staff they needed to be double vaccinated by April 1st or face being sacked.

But it was dropped in March following pressure from within the health service which included a legal challenge and GB News’ Outdate The Mandate campaign.

In November 2021, the social care sector lost 40,000 as a result of the mandate.

A recent study by researchers from the universities of Oxford, Harvard, Johns Hopkins and others, concluded that university COVID-19 vaccine mandates are unethical because the vaccines are up to nearly 100 times more likely to cause a person of student age serious injury than prevent him or her from being hospitalised with COVID-19.
