Talking about deflation i can say these dupes are superb and 50ml for £20 mostly (or £30 for 100ml),instead of £100s

This is a dupe of Tom Ford Noir Extreme and is a superb match,it would take an expert nose to notice the difference and not many kicking around Stockton or Durham will have the original, probably the best Tom Ford ,beautiful

https://www.notedaromas.co.uk/collections/mens/products/hong-kong

I have several of these now and own the originals of 5 of them and they are almost exact after the first 15 minutes of dry down.A couple you might need to  re-spray from a small atomiser after 4 hours, but thats it.

Autumn/winter this is superb,i have Jazz Club and this dupe is almost exact,

This is also exact,really crisp,perfect citrus/woody scent,

Get some money spent the lot of you at these bargain prices, smelling like dog otters is not acceptable, even for us basement dwellers.

Will they cover up the smell of diesel, cow shit and silage effluent? Asking for an, erm friend.

I think underneath there is huge anger building, and it will only get worse and worse. Most now understand bennies are out of control. Its going to get very interesting.

I'm not sure if it's just the circles I swim in of people my age (late 30s/early 40s) - but I'm not seeing or sensing the anger out there - other than my own.

It will be interesting to see how it works out,so many are shielded so far from reality. The time is here though where its nurses or bennies etc,the left will start to fight itself.

We are very fortunate so atm we're just soaking up essential price rises so certainly we're not representative. In our own bubble with 3 x kids under 6 years' old so we don't get out and about as much as we did 5 years ago or have as many conversations with people.

Have noticed inner city/ies looking a bit more desolate/hopeless - out in the burbs nothing really changes.

I’ve got some expensive ones, there’s a few things I will pay out for, but they last for years as I use very sparingly. I’ve got an old style double safety razor (think the pack of blades is 10 years old and hardly made a dent) so use barber shop style shaving soap and bowl so it’s become a bit of a collection of mine.

Here’s a few recommendations that the broad consensus of ladies give compliments on

On the top tier I have

Tom Ford - Noir

Creed - Aventus (Both of these are powerful stuff so only need a little)

Mid tier

Dior - Fahrenheit

Issey Miyake

Paco Rabanne - Million

Jean Paul Gaultier - Le Male (bit 90’s now though - but very popular at the time)

lower tier

Joop - Homme (women like this a lot and you can get a big bottle for a fairly reasonable price)

Taylors of Bond Street - Gentlemen’s Cologne

Budget tier (for work)

Can’t go wrong with a bit of Old Spice (still gets compliments as people don’t know what it is)

December cuts inbound :Old:

I'm seeing warning signs of deflation everywhere at the moment.

Cuts by both FED and BOE?

If you don't mind me asking, what do you think the BOE rate will be at the start of 2024?

Can you give some specifics regarding the deflation? Are you just talking about energy prices again or other things?

It’s just the longevity for me, you can get ones that smell close, but the copies don’t tend to last as long. (Back in the days that served me well, do the deed, leave early in the morning, reminder still there for repeat custom :))

A £59.99 pair of trespass boots has been the one of the best for comfort I've had should have bought a few pairs for the loft as per this thread.

I got some Peter Storm boots for £30-40 from Amazon. They are incredibly comfortable and waterproof. I have had a few compliments say that they look expensive and good quality despite them being synthetic . Gone up a little bit since I bought them.

Looked at a deposit account for one of my companies today.

Lloyds were offering a very generous 0.9%.

They are taking the piss.

They can vote whatever way they want at some pissy conference.

The Department of Health determines the number of medical school places because it needs to closely align with the number of 2 year foundation internships. They then import third world medics of very dubious quality to fill vacancies when some of these UK trained juniors depart for Australia or wherever after their second year.

The BMA is not the Department of Health or the Treasury. For example, their junior doctor committee is currently pushing for an eye watering ~40% pay rise, but, despite a lot of feet stamping and a couple of 4 day strikes, they've been offered exactly the same ~6% deal as the nurses and teachers.
